Between March 2nd to 6th DESS held our second Science Week. It was a busy week full of exciting activities, visits and speakers to help us to celebrate the importance that Science plays in our lives.
The week began with a costume parade around the playing field on the theme of "Going Green". As DESS is full of budding young environmentalists, we were not surprised to see the amazing variety of ideas which were used to create costumes on the theme with many costumes made out of recyclable materials.
It was almost impossible to select prize-winners, but we had to do just that as the thrilling prize was a ride in a Hot Air Balloon which visited DESS during Science Week!

Reception and year 1 classes had some very cuddly visitors! Jackie Radcliffe from the Dubai’s dog rescue group K9 Friends (www.k9friends.com) brought in two gorgeous, rescued puppies for us to see

On Buddy Science Day, older classes worked alongside younger children and shared experiences together. The whole school was involved, experimenting together and showing each other a huge variety of scientific activities. We had an amazing time!
