Year Six Recyclable Sculpture Competition
The pupils worked together to carry out activities that resulted in an awareness of recyclable materials.
The Year Six team created a D.E.S.S. Palm Tree made completely out of recycled materials.
The base was an old umbrella stand
The trunk was made of recycled tins, that were linked together with wire and fastened to a cardboard tube (from the inside of a roll of carpet). This was later painted silver.
The branches were made from wire and the leaves from old, worn out school uniform. The material had to be cut, shaped and stitched to the wire.
