Day 1 - Saturday 8th March 2008
Dear Mums and Dads,
After an early start at the airport, we excitedly made our way to the check-in and then departure gate. And guess what? We were allowed to board straight away so not much waiting around after all! A smooth flight and then we landed safely in Zurich and the coach was there, waiting for us....We travelled on to Verbier and were so excited to see such beautiful scenery and eventually snow! So here we are - as Oliver said, "I've waited since Year 2 for this moment!" and it's fantastic to be here...After trying on boots, organising skis and unpacking, we flopped into bed - tired but happy and really looking forward to our first day on the slopes with the instructors. Can't wait! More tomorrow......
Dear Mums and Dads,
Wow! Our first day skiing with beautiful sunshine and clear skies was so much fun - some of us went on the mountain runs and others stayed on the nursery slopes. But we all made so much progress in one day that Miss Riley and Mrs Shaddick said that we would be experts by the end of the week! It's been fantastic sunshine today, so much so that it feels like Dubai, but some of the instructors were saying that it might snow tonight, which would be awesome! Looking forward to this evening's activity because we're ice-skating - non-stop fun!

Care Bear of the Day was awarded to Joanna Summers for caring and looking after a couple of her friends who were tired on the journey.
Crab of the Day was awarded to Tom Francis for stating 'Have we taken off yet?', despite being 30,000 ft in the air and having travelled for an hour...(Miss Riley wants to award it again to him tomorrow for getting on the wrong lift, losing his glove and actually nearly losing the crab hat itself!)
