As part of our Geography unit Year 4 held a special 'Environment Day' recently. The focus of the day was to think about re-cycling and how we could reduce our waste in school. We used the Internet to find out more about re-cycling and tried out some games and quizzes to see how much we knew!

Some children composed fantastic songs and raps about re-cycling which they performed to their classes. Classes now have an action plan about how to cut down on their everyday waste! The key words of the day were Reduce - Reuse - Recycle.

There's a word I think you know,

And it's going to save our planet,

How ever slow!

You can make a difference

Do whatever you can do,

Recycle is the answer,

You can do it too,

You can't call 999,

Cause this is a job for you,

Everyone can help,

Especially YOU!

We also enjoyed an 'environmentally friendly' super snack! Well done to all the classes for producing a lot less waste than usual! Congratulations to 4 Yellow who managed to produce a very small amount of waste by using reusable containers, plates and beakers.
